Hydrotherapy/Internship
Hydrotherapy Theory & Practice — 20 hours
Water, in all its forms (solid, liquid, and vapor), has tremendous healing capabilities. We include in our hydrotherapy course the history, theory and practical application of hydrotherapy techniques. We discuss the indications, contraindications, effects and uses of various hydrotherapies.
You will learn and practice techniques commonly used at lifestyle centers and some spas, including fomentations, immersion baths, ice massage, Russian steam baths, contrast showers and hot packs. Students will learn to give common spa treatments such as salt glows and sugar scrubs.
Clinical Internship — 160 hours
Our program includes skills application in our clinics where students are supervised in their practice on clients. There you will be able to apply important skills like interview techniques, assessment, timing your treatments, and proper documentation; continually incorporating the new bodywork techniques you are learning in class. Students will also participate in giving massages at community outreach events.
