Massage School Certification
700-hour Massage Therapy Certification Program
Massage Therapy:
Theory & Practice — Total: 351 hours
We include in our massage therapy courses the history, theory, and hands-on practice of massage therapy techniques. Training includes the indications, contraindications, benefits, and uses of individual modalities and techniques.
You will learn how to collect information from a client, perform assessments, and, using clinical reasoning skills, create an effective treatment strategy. You will also learn how to document your findings, the techniques you used, and client response. Through lectures, in-class demonstration and supervised practice we cover proper draping practices, the use of appropriate equipment and supplies, standard
precautions, proper body mechanics and self-care techniques. Scientific, evidence-based massage techniques and modalities such as Swedish massage, chair massage, stretching, pregnancy massage, deep tissue, sports massage, positional release technique, and other are taught in both introductory format and some in more depth, permitting the student a solid foundation for a professional career.
Swedish Massage Theory & Practice — 76 hours
Swedish Massage is the most popular and well known massage modality in the United States and Europe. Students will learn basic Swedish strokes including effleurage, petrissage, friction, vibration and tapotement, combined with active and passive joint movements. While we teach Swedish Massage, we set a foundation for exploring and practicing any massage modality, providing you with tools to either focus on Swedish as your technique of choice or branch out into other approaches.
